Baseline “Absorptions in Open Stances”
PreviewContent
Objective:
When the opponent’s shot is deep and is coming fast – the player has to able to “absorb” the shot hitting as the wall is rising.
The idea is to create some space to neutralize the opponent’s ball with quality (power , height and depth) finishing in balance to be able to recover the position on court close to the baseline.

Key Aspects:
Take one or two steps back in a diagonal movement to create space.
Impact between hip and shoulder as the ball is rising. Avoid contacts below the knee or going too far back to where the ball is already droping.
Load on the outside leg, extending the body weight upwards and land using the outside foot. Generate power from the ground and finish the shot with balance. It requires strenght and agility.
Ejemplos prácticos
