Free PreviewContent
Descripction:
The coach proposes a tactical situation and the players play out the point (or game). When the point is over, the coach gives feedback to the players, discussing whether the point was played out correctly from the tactical standpoint.
Objective:
By starting a tactical rally in a certain way the players will work on the tactical situations marked by the coach.
Main goal is to work on recognition and decision making integrated in a tactical game.
Session development:
Working on rrecognition and decision making. There is an established combination of shots that the players have to execute (to prepare the attack) and when the player recognizes a pre stablished indicator – the players play out the point (full court) until the end. The indicator usually will be a short ball or an easy ball to step in.
Ejemplos prácticos
“Cross-Court-Start Hitting exercise”:
Both players start hitting Cross-court with high intensity, but when there is a chance to step in and hit the ball very close to the baseline or inside the court, the players can hit the ball Down-the-line and play out the point (full court) until the end.
“Cross-Court-Angle Hitting exercise”:
Both players start hitting Backhand Cross-court with high intensity, but when there is a chance to step in and hit the ball very close to the baseline or inside the court, the players can hit a Cross-Court-Angle (trying to open the court wide) and play out the point (full court) until the end.
“Approaching-the-Net Hitting exercise”
Both players start hitting Backhand Cross-court with high intensity, but when there is a chance to step in and hit the ball very close to the baseline or inside the court, the players can hit an Approach shot (trying to finish the point at the net with a volley) and play out the point (full court) until the end.
“Recognize when to step in and open the court”
Hitting exercise where both players play with high intensity towards the center of the court, but when there is a chance to step inside the court – the player has to make a decision of how and where to attack.
