Description:

Organize the training of one or more coaches on several tennis courts.

It is about organizing the space in such a way that the coach can have control over the courts and tennis players.

Coach’s task:

Control of the different playing areas in order to have a peripheral vision of all the courts in practice.

Player role:

The players take responsibility of performing at the highest possible intensity.

Practical examples

Organization of groups, activities and time “Monday, Wednesday and Friday”:

Training Plan: Monday, Wednesday and Friday (over a 2-hour training). Two coaches and 6-8 players on 3 courts.

Group “A1”, Group “A2” and Group “B”: 15´ Warm Up.

Group “A1”: 25´ of Live Ball Methods Exercise “A”(Coach controls peripheral vision, court 1).

Group “A2”: 25´ of Live Ball Methods Exercise “B”(Coach controls peripheral vision, court 2).

Grupo “B”: 25´Methods Coach Racket Ejercicio “C” (Coach feeding or playing with the player).

Group “A1”, Group “A2” and Group “B”: 30´ Points or Matches.

Space Organization “Initial Part”:

Group “A1”, Group “A2” and Group “B”: 15´ Warm Up of 6-8 players on 3 courts (2 coaches positioned as shown in the graph, observe and correct two courts each). If there are 8 players on a court, they play down-the-line (doubles style)

Space Organization “Main Part”:

75 min Total: 3 rotations of 25 min

Group “A1”: 25´of Live Ball Methods Exercise “A” 3 players (Coach controls peripheral vision, court 1).

Group “A2”: 25´of Live Ball Methods Exercise “B” 2 players (Coach controls peripheral vision, court 2).

Group “B”: 25´de Methods Coach Racket Exercise “C” 3 players (Coach participates feeding balls or playing with the player).

Space Organization “Final Part”:

Group “A1”, Group “A2” and Group “C”: 30´ Points or Matches of 8 players on 3 courts (two coaches positioned as shown in the graph, observe and correct on both courts, each).

Practical cases

Sessions examples are designed to last 120´ (2 hours).

The week is divided into two different session models:

Monday Wednesday and Friday; Focused on players general training.

Tuesday and Thursday: Training of Building the game with serve, returns and following shots + Specific (individual) training of every player (enhance strengths and minimize weaknesses).

Variants can be carried out in all proposals

Variants: Carry out all adjustments and variations that the coach considers necessary, as each coach / school has its particularities, its own objectives and different needs.
