Planning of the session:
Defined by the coach

Organization and development:
The main idea is to organize the players by establishing a set of tactical games and specific points for them to compete.
Changes in Positions: the distribution depends on the number of players, but an important factor to consider is the time a player has to wait in between points.
Coach’s task:
the coach gives the players some autonomy in making decisions (rhythm, intensity, and self evaluation) and reduces the involvement to giving feedback to the players after the completion of the exercises.
Player role:
The players take responsibility of performing at the highest possible intensity.
Practical examples
Hitting Drills and Games/Points:
“Hitting Drills or Controls with 3 to 4 players on court” The players feed the ball and perform the exercise set by the coach. After 1 or 2 sets, the players rotate (2 players training – 1 or 2 players waiting) and perform the same exercise.

With 5 or 6 players organize assigned tasks

Points or games:
“Games and/or Points” Usually this type of Games and Points is set by the coach for the Final Part of the Session. It can be performed as a free game, as a game by forcing certain technical actions (example: mandatory to cut the backhand) or tactics (example: if you bounce the service box you have to go up to the net) or also delimiting game spaces (example: if you bounce service box is considered out). Single points can be trained by serving conventionally or putting the ball in play below.
Games and Points with 6 players on court:
“Games and Points with 6 players on court” 4 players compete Full court: 2 consecutive points (win or lose) each player: 1 point Serving – 1 point Returning. Different variants can be added to the game: backhand can be slice only, if the ball bounces in the service box -the player has to approach and finish the point at the net, if the ball bounces in the service box it is considered Out, etc.
Games and Points with 4+ players on court:
“Games and Points with 4+ players on court” In this case there is a coach (or player) feeding the ball. 2 players on each side (1 competing – 1 waiting), and 2 consecutive (win or lose) points for each player: 1 point approaching the net – 1 point trying to pass (hit a passing shot) the player that is approaching the net.
