Organization and development:
It is about organizing the space in such a way that the coach can have control over the courts and tennis players.
Coach’s task:
Control of the different playing areas in order to have a peripheral vision of all the courts in practice.
Player role:
The players take responsibility of performing at the highest possible intensity.
Practical examples
Organization of groups, activities and time “Tuesday and Thursday”:
Training Plan: Tuesday and Thursday (over a 2-hour training).
Group “A” and Group “B”: 30´ Warm Up
Group “A”: 45´ Individual Player Training (2 coaches work on enhancing strengths and minimize weaknesses on court 1 and with two to four players).
Group “B”: 45´ Building the game and following shots patterns (1 coach proposes activities for building the game on court 2 and 3 + fitness activities for 8 players).
Space Organization “Initial Part”:
Group «A» and Group «B»: 30´ Warm-up of 8-12 players on 4 courts (3 coaches positioned as shown in the graph, observe and correct 1.5 courts each). If there are 12 players on two courts they play down-the-line shots (doubles style) and on the other two courts, they play singles (trio rallies in warm-ups shall be avoided).
